Pelican Rock

Cabo marine protected area, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

The Basics

Pelican Rock is only reachable by boat, and most visitors arrive as part of a guided snorkeling or kayaking tour that includes hotel or port pickup and drop-off. Sightseeing cruises typically also visit other must-see Land’s End attractions, such as the Arch of Cabo San Lucas (El Arco), Lover’s Beach, Medano Beach, and the area’s resident sea lion colony.

Glass-bottom boat tours let you view Los Cabos’ colorful sea life without getting wet, and there’s also a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) tour and a popular Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo sightseeing combo tour to consider.

Arch Boat Tour and Snorkeling at Pelican Rock
Leonardo was a great tour guide. I was a bit skeptical to purchase since I didn’t see many reviews but clear directions and Indio made sure we got to the right place to meet our guide . I had accidentally booked the wrong date and they were able to accommodate me I’m not much of a swimmer and it was perfect because I could stay on the beach while my son and husband went to snorkel. The current was a bit rough so I’m glad I didn’t go out . It’s best to get their early.

This was exactly what we wanted!

Arch Boat Tour and Snorkeling at Pelican Rock
They set us up with snorkel gear and there were only two others on the boat with us on the way there. Jose showed us all the rock formations alone the coast, and then let us play on the beach for 2 1/2 hours, snorkeling and enjoying the sun. We have a family of 6 and I didn't want to be stuck on a boat with a bunch of drunk people. This was perfect! We will definitely do it again!

We had a great time snorkeling as a family. We saw a lot of fish and a sea loin on the rock. Little Greg was a great boat guide. We loved seeing the arch and other rock formations.

The guide was funny but very informative as well. He fit perfectly with the personality of our group! During the snorkeling I was afraid and he stayed with me and made me feel very safe.

Fun excursion, from start to finish Martin took care of us. Snorkeling was good, boat was clean and our guides did an excellent job. Baguette sandwich lunch was great. Recommend this to anyone who wants to see the Arch area and get a taste of the town.

Arch Boat Tour and Snorkeling at Pelican Rock
Great crew. A must do for every family traveling to Cabo. The boat ride to the arches wasn’t rushed. We stayed on the beach, jumped off the rock, and snorkeled. Grab some beers from the Oxxo prior to arriving.

Snorkeling at Pelicans Rock
This was so amazing! I went with this one based off prior reviews and I’m glad I did! They were very organized, sent you an email the day before to let you know the itinerary and pick up times and everything. Our van was on time, it was just myself and my son on this tour due to covid I’m sure. We saw soooo many fish and the tour guide even went down the to the bottom and got a puffer fish and let us touch it underwater. So amazing! Before we went snorkeling they let us watch for whales for a little bit and we actually saw a couple! I’d do this tour over again for sure.

Snorkel Tour to Pelican Rock by Glass-Bottom Boat with Souvenir Photos
This is a great combo tour for snorkeling and sight seeing. Shaggy and Jonathan were an excellent guide and captain. You will see a lot of fish in very clear water as well as seeing El Arco and the sea lions. Esperanza tour company was great. I need to mention that Viator had to reschedule this tour after I booked it online. I thought this tour was going to be longer. It stated approximately 5 hours in the description. It was 2 hours from the time I left and came back to the dock.

Pelican Rock Snorkeling and Sightseeing Adventure
Enjoyed the snorkeling and was surprised at all the fish since the area had a lot of people in it. Easy in and out of the boat and enjoyed the boat ride around the area to see the arch. I was under the impression that we would be snorkeling at three different locations, but it was only one. Unfortunately, it was not a really warm day so it was cold getting out of the water.
