611 Reviews
Although otherworldly in appearance, the Pinnacles Desert is 100 percent on planet earth, located along the Indian Ocean's Coral Coast in Nambung National Park in Western Australia (WA). This vast sandy expanse is filled with towering limestone pillars, and at only a few hours' drive from the city of Perth, the site makes for a popular and totally doable day trip.

Prepare for a day full of adventure. Our final destination, The PINNACLES DESERT, is 200 km North of Perth. Our first stop will be Yanchep Lagoon. The calm and clear water, beautiful beach, with the reef close by, makes this a perfect start to our tour. Our next stopover is Yanchep National Park, home to western grey kangaroos and rich birdlife. The park also has a raised boardwalk among trees inhabited by koalas. Crystal Cave, located within Yanchep National Park, is an underground wonderland full of natural structures including stalagmites, stalactites, columns and flowstones. Next stop is the town of Guilderton, where Moore River meets the Indian Ocean. Pelicans often frequent this beautiful location and the sea is usually turquoise in colour. This stunning place is where we will be having our lunch (sandwiches, snacks and drinks) . We will reach our final destination around 2:30pm and we will have plenty of time to explore the Pinnacles.
