Nambung National Park, Pinnacles Drive, Cervantes, 6511

The Basics

Most day tours combine a visit to the 35,000-year-old limestone formations with stops at other popular attractions in the area, making it easy to heed the siren call of nearby dunes, white-sand beaches, and even a lobster farm. Meanwhile, nature lovers can catch sight of kangaroos, koalas, and wombats on tours that stop at Caversham Wildlife Park and Yanchep National Park, while adventurers can explore the Lancelin sand dunes via 4WD vehicle or sand board.

Great experience in WA
Highlight was seeing the pinnacles at sunset and sandboarding on the dunes- a great experience not far outside Perth. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly and approachable and the pace was appropriate for the places that we saw. Highly recommend

Pinnacles Desert, Koalas and Sandboarding 4WD Day Tour from Perth
The whole tour was lovely. It was nice to have a tour in the wildlife park before if opens up to avoid crowds. The lobster shack tour wasn’t as good as I thought because the machinery wasn’t running. We really enjoyed the sand dunes and the pinnacle desert. Make sure you bring extra pair of shoes if you want to go sandboarding! The only downside was the speaker on the bus wasn’t working properly so we missed some of the commentary by our lovely guide/driver Jonathan.

Walking around the Pinnacles is amazing. We had a great time the entire tour. Gavin our driver and tour guide did a fantastic job given the unpredictable weather we had during the tour. Comfortable ride and delicious dinner.

Pinnacles Desert, Koalas and Sandboarding 4WD Day Tour from Perth
We were picked up at a convenient location. The bus was spacious and clean. I later discovered that it was to be out 4WD on the sand dunes too. It was exhilarating. A comfortable ride throughout with a knowledgeable guide. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Pinnacles Desert & New Norcia Day Tour from Perth
Excellent tour that visited the unique Pinnacles Desert, allowed an insight into the history of the New Norcia monastic settlement, and included a visit to an Australian wildflower exporter farm with a well-informed driver. Only issue was the poor coach with no viable speaker system, an out-of-order toilet, no leg rests and at least one seat that reclined of its own accord. plus a dangerously high step at the exit.

When to Get There

The best time to visit is spring (September to October) when Western Australia's native wildflowers paint the desert with vibrant colors. Book a sunset tour to see a light show across the Pinnacles, or maximize your time by heading out early in the morning; you'll want the extra time to explore the many parks and beaches along the way.
