The Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary offers one of the best opportunities in Port Douglas to observe iconic Australian animals. Admission to the sanctuary is valid for five days and includes access to all four wilderness habitats, as well as tours, feedings, and presentations throughout the day. Tickets can be upgraded to include special dining experiences, overnights, or private wildlife habitat tours. Travelers can combine a visit to the sanctuary with a tour of the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, or a day of ziplining through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed forest.

The Wildlife Habitat Sanctuary is located at the southern end of Four Mile Beach, 3.3 miles (5.4 kilometers) south of Port Douglas and 39 miles (63 kilometers) northwest of Cairns. Several local shuttle buses from Port Douglas and Cairns let passengers off at the entrance.

The park is usually open on a daily basis throughout the year, however, it's advisable to check on the opening schedule before visiting. Please note that the site is usually closed during Christmas. The best time to visit is between May and October, when the weather tends to be dry and sunny.
