Budikovac Island (Veliki Budikovac) Tours

Budikovac Island (Veliki Budikovac)
Mostly uninhabited and untouched, pristine Budikovac Island (Veliki Budikovac) is an ideal place to experience Croatia’s natural beauty. The island, off the coast of Split, is a great destination for getting out of the city and relaxing, thanks largely in part to its quiet bay, clear turquoise water, and pebbly beaches.

The Basics
As one of the more isolated islands off the Split coast, Budikovac is the perfect place for sunbathing, swimming, and relaxation. The island’s Blue Lagoon, an azure bay protected by the island’s natural rock formations, is a popular spot for swimming.

Small-group and private tours to Budikovac often also visit other islands that dot the Adriatic waters off of Split, including Hvar Island, Ravnik Island, Vis Island, and Bisevo Island (and it’s famous Blue Cave). Book a tour that includes round-trip transportation to the island to enjoy its quiet shores with the most convenience.

Things to Know Before You Go
  • Budikovac Island is a must for nature lovers and those looking for a quiet respite from the bustle of Split.
  • The island has only one resident; it is otherwise uninhabited.
  • Bring appropriate clothes for swimming or hiking.

How to Get There
Budikovac Island is accessible only by private boat and tour; public ferries do not service it.

When to Get There

You can explore Budikovac only during the day when boats are running, as there is no place to stay overnight on the island. Summer is the most popular time to visit, but late spring and early autumn are still warm enough to swim, and tend to be quieter than the high season.

Island-Hopping
Budikovac Island has its lovely Blue Lagoon, but the surrounding islands also have natural attractions worth visiting. The picturesque Stiniva Cove on Vis has a narrow beach between two giant cliffs. Blue Cave on the island of Bisevo is a grotto that glows blue at certain times of day. Hvar Island has a lively town and historical buildings perched around its wide port.

A perfect hot summer day is best to spend relaxing and exploring hidden beauties that Adriatic coast and islands have to offer. Guided by this idea,we have created such a trip.We leave from waterfront of Riva in Split toward Blue cave. The cave is special for its underwater opening through which penetrate sunrays. A place that will surely impress you is the beautiful island Budikovac, our next destination. It is known as a place for a remarkable break due to its shallow bay, also called Blue lagoon.
