Departure Time

7:30 AM
Depart your central Cairns or Northern Beaches hotel by air-conditioned bus and venture into rural North Queensland. Composed of highlands, tropical rainforests, and waterfalls, this pristine region is renowned for its beauty and ancient culture.

Visit the Babinda Boulders, a tropical creek lined with huge boulders, and hear about the aboriginal legends that surround this magical-looking place. Then head to your first swim spot, Josephine Falls, and slide down the natural rock slide.

Continue to the Atherton Tablelands and swim in the Millaa Millaa Falls. Bordered by protected rainforest, this 59-foot (18-meter) single-drop waterfall has featured in several TV ads.

After a country-style lunch at Australia’s largest timber pub, continue to Mt. Hypipamee Crater, a pipe-shaped, 278-foot (85-meter) deep crater. Take a bushland walk to admire the crater lake, watch for wildlife like possum and emu-like cassowarys, and stop to bathe in the idyllic Dinner Falls.

After visiting a creek to search for platypus, enjoy another swim and a sunset stop at Lake Eacham, famous for its turtles.

Finally, return to Cairns, perhaps playing the provided games on your bus before your trip ends at the original starting point.

Although the sun hid for the day and the rains took over, Tom (tour guide) made this tour immensely enjoyable, he was highly energetic and provided endless laughs and tips throughout the day! Would highly recommend and would 100% re book in any weather condition. The destinations were beautiful, definitely make the most of swimming at every opportunity!

The choice of scenic destinations was well considered, the trip was well timed, and the tour guide was informative, naturally funny and a real character. It was a fun day out, and the scenery was stunning. We had several opportunities to go swimming, and I gave in from shooting tonnes of photos to have a swim, and get some relief from the humidity. Everyone on the tour seemed to have a great time. I’d highly recommend it to anyone.

Fun family friendly full day activity filled with slips, slides, lots of laughs and minimal walking. Pub lunch provided, pictures too and the views just outside of Cairns are beautiful. Thomas our tour guide had everything we needed for a fun day out including some fun facts about his backyard. Well worth booking this tour if you want a glimpse of what is on offer.

Absolutely loved the trip on Sunday 18th October. Knowledgeable guide, stunning scenery and would fully recommend this trip for anyone wanting to see a little more of Northern Queensland. The water was a little too cold for us but others on the excursion appeared to enjoy the swimming areas. Great food too. Go and support this local firm and enjoy your day out!!

What a wonderful day! Our tour guide, Jim, went out of his way to show us wildlife and other things that needed to be searched out along the way. The scenery was gorgeous and swimming opportunities were outstanding. I enthusiastically recommend this tour.
