Your afternoon pub tour begins at St. Paul's, where you will meet your guide and set off for the first stop of your tour. As you walk, check out city attractions like St. Paul's Cathedral and the bustling Fleet Street. Pass the site of a Shakespearean playhouse, then pop into the art nouveau Blackfriars for a drink. Grab a pint (own expense) and enjoy colorful stories from this neighborhood's banking community.

Next, head down Fleet Street, flush with pubs and gin palaces to service the journalists and literary greats of the day. Stop at a proper London boozer for a civilized drinking experience. Buy yourself a delicious local ale (or two), admire the authentic medieval decor, and enjoy the buzz as regulars and newcomers fill up the wooden tables surrounding the horseshoe bar.

Continue along Fleet Street, the former stomping grounds of Charles Dickens, who once resided in Furnival’s Inn (now Holborn Bars). Visit a 17th-century pub that was a favorite of Dickens and fellow writers Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Alfred Lord Tennyson. Sip on a delicious beer and cider (not included) and soak up the literary history of the place.

Your tour ends at the edge of Covent Garden with plenty of time (and insider information) to continue the fun at another local pub.

Had a great time on this tour. Really excellent mix of guided walking between each pub, when our guide would give really interesting spiels, and more informal time when we stopped at each pub. We had about 15 minutes at each pub to buy a drink (or not) and to have more conversation and ask more questions. We went to 5 really interesting places and our guide pointed out several more spots including bars and historical buildings. I ended up going back another time to 2 bars that we had skipped (gin distillery and wine bar) based only on learning about them through the tour and also really enjoyed them. Pro tip: you can do half pints at each stop :) I came on my own, I was in London for work and was free that day. It was a really nice group, at the last stop most of us ended up lingering and having a chat over our final , and we bought a drink for our guide as well to join us for a bit. I felt totally fine being the only singleton in the group so would definitely recommend. I also really appreciate the flexibility that the organizer provided. I started feeling ill the night before my tour and even though I was past the free cancellation deadline, I emailed them directly and they were able to move me to another spot a couple days later for free. They would have made an exception and refunded me as well if we couldn't find another date that worked, but I was very happy to still be able to go once I was feeling better.

Great tour for some history and beer
Alice_Y

Our tour guide, Lyndon, was extremely knowledgeable about all the pubs and landmarks we visited. The pubs he choose were amazing and filled with so much history. He also showed us little hidden corners and backroads of London that contained some “liquid history” that were also amazing (and hidden from tourists). Overall it was a great way to spend a few hours and learn more about London.

We had a fantastic time visiting some of London’s historic pubs and learning about many other things along the way! Our tour guide Freddy did an outstanding job leading us through many back streets and telling fascinating tales that tied everything together along the way. This is a ‘walking’ tour—so be sure to wear good walking shoes. You won’t regret going on this tour and do yourself a favor and request Freddy if you can!

Walking shoes and a healthy thirst for history and booze is all you need. Thanks for sharing the stroll. Cheers!

The tour is four pubs as...
mike_C
, Jun 2022
The tour is four pubs as well as a mix of London landmarks and interesting bits of culture and history between pub stops. At first we were puzzled why it took so long to get around to the pubbing part but ultimately it works out, as you get a drink at each pub you need time to drink, walk it off a bit, then go to the next one. The guide, Dave, was witty and interesting. The pubs are a good mix of histories and architectures. The last pub was the least interesting of the four, but had good food, so an appropriate place to finish. I recommend this tour, it's social, mildly active, and interesting

Ha! All good things come to those who wait. Glad that we could quench your thirst in the end. Cheers!
