Your Port Douglas sightseeing cruise to the Great Barrier Reef begins with hotel pickup. You'll board a luxury catamaran to the Low Isles in the quieter morning hours, before most visitors arrive. Enjoy professional service by the attentive crew on the smaller 33-passenger vessel.

On arrival, you'll have 4.5 hours to spend at your leisure; slip on the provided snorkel gear and explore the undersea coral gardens of a sheltered lagoon just offshore, stroll to the historic 19th-century lighthouse, or simply relax under the shade of tropical palm trees on the white-sand beach. If you'd prefer a snorkeling tour led by a marine biologist, explore the magical underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef with your guide.

There’s more eco-education aboard a glass-bottom boat tour, with expert commentary and stunning views of iridescent fish and fluorescent coral.

After a seafood buffet lunch on board the catamaran, soak up the sun on the deck or return to the water for a final snorkel before cruising back to Port Douglas in the afternoon.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Low Isles
Sail from Port Douglas aboard a luxury catamaran to visit Low Isles in the quieter morning hours, before the majority of visitors arrive. After cruising from the mainland, arrive at Low Isles, where you can spend four and a half hours at Low Isles, a coral cay island where you can relax under palm trees on the white sands and snorkel off-beach in the sheltered lagoon’s undersea coral gardens. Take a walk to Low Isles’ historic lighthouse, dating from 1878, or learn about the Great Barrier Reef’s magical underwater world of iridescent fish and fluorescent coral on a guided snorkel tour led by a marine biologist. There’s more fun eco-education aboard a glass-bottom boat tour, with stunning coral views and expert commentary. After a seafood buffet lunch on board the catamaran, soak up the sun on the deck or return to the water for a final snorkel before returning to Port Douglas by 4pm. Only a select group of operators are permitted to visit the coral cay Low Isles, the only Great Barrier Reef island a short sail from Port Douglas. This cruise combines luxury and eco credentials, for a premium reef experience.

Awesome crew and ship. Weather out and back was rough, but the reef was amazing. Very professionally run and would highly recommend. Not run by backpackers like the rest of Port Douglas.

This was a great trip - worth the money. Experienced and friendly crew, great food and beautiful catamaran. They provided stinger suits, flippers and snorkels and took us on two guided snorkels. Just be sure to take some travel/sea sickness pills as it can get a little rough on the ocean.

We had a beautiful day sailing to and snorkelling around the Low Isles with Sailaway. We saw some amazing fish, swam over dense colourful reef and side by side with turtles! We particularly enjoyed Caroline’s walking tour through the island! Her passion for her job and positivity is infectious. Thanks Sailaway team for a wonderful day out on the water!

We didn’t really know what to expect from our tour and it turned out to be a holiday highlight. The catamaran was smooth and the staff, particularly Laura and Sophie, were so friendly and helpful. Not being a strong swimmer I was a bit worried but the snorkeling was just off an island so not to far to swim out and see the amazing coral reef. It was spectacular! Highly recommend. A must for anyone coming up to Port Douglas
