Peter provided a fabulous experience. Visited the morning fruit & veg markets, then a fruit farm where we sampled sugar cane juice. Visited a Barramundi farm and either watched Peter’s handy work in the kitchen or try and catch a Barra. Sampled his freshly made entree of freshly sliced Barra and condiments. Then on to the Tropical Fruit Winery for wine tasting and ate Peters freshly made Sushimi, whilst he barbecued our Barramundi. Beautifully prepared Barra, Salad & honey mustard dressing all whilst sipping our wine selection. Finished a wonderful day with freshly made ice cream and grapefruit. Yum yum yum. Thanks Pete!!!! What a great host!!!

What an experience, not to be missed. Phil the tour guide and chef was very knowledgeable on the trip to the venues where food was prepared by him . The produce used was all sourced locally and cooked to perfection. My friend and I could not rate this high enough, 10 out of 10 stars. Do yourself a favour and take this tour

What a wonderful day! Pete provided a very informative rustic food tour of Mossman and surrounds! We learnt about unique fruits, foods and local experiences. If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t take life too seriously, want some laughs and a good time, this is the tour for you. Will be recommending this tour to all my friends visiting Port Douglas!

Port on a plate was a great and rewording experience. It was great to see our tour guide Pete being very passionate about what he does, his love of food, culture and culinary skills was amazing, not to mention the food he cooked. Overall a lovely experience and a different way to see port Douglas than your standard commercial offerings.

Apart from being a food and wine tour Port on a Plate appealed to us as it is a small group tour, there is not a lot of travel involved and it is not a full day allowing us to do other things in the afternoon. We live in North Queensland and have visited Port Douglas many times, but this tour took us to places we never knew existed. We have been on many wine and food tours but this one is unique. From chocolate sampling to the fresh fish meal prepared by Peter as you enjoy the wine tasting. As “locals” we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience so I’m sure interstate and overseas visitors will also. Peter is a great tour guide and host. Highly recommended.
