Civitavecchia Port: 9 Hours Luxury Private Full-Day Shore excursion of Rome

This excursion was a wonderful tour in all aspects. The pick up was prompt and special drop off request was so appreciated. Our guide Livio prepared us with instruction to maneuver through crowds at the Vatican and Coliseum so that we had sufficient time for Fountains and other sites. His knowledge of the city and history were invaluable and he arranged the extra stop requested. It truly was the best tour we had throughout our trip. I very highly recommend this excursion and this particular guide.

We are two young girls who had one day to visit Rome from our cruise port in Civitavecchia. Emmanuel was ready and waiting for us as we exited our boat. We had booked a Vatican Tour at 10am so he planned our day around this, making sure we got to see everything we wanted (and then some). This tour is so convenient from the cruise ships. Don’t even waste your money being herded around like cattle on the ship excursions to maybe see a couple things. This was the same price and we felt it was well worth the money. Emmanuel provided us with details about the locations we were visiting, an umbrella when it started raining, a great lunch spot, and even helped take our photos along the way! Our last request was for gelato and he took us to the best gelato shop ever. And most importantly, we were back to our ship well before the all aboard time. If you’re on the fence about this don’t be. Go ahead and book it, and ask for Emmanuel!

Emanuelle we thank you for showing us Roma through an Italians eyes. You are so knowledgeable, friendly, funny , and great driver. We had the absolute best day with you. Lifetime memories were made with you. Grazie per la bella giornata.

Let me start by saying Emanuel is a six star guide with a six star personality. My family and I enjoyed spending the day with him. He is very knowledgeable and really seems to love Rome and Civittavechia. He also made sure we saw all we had scheduled. We scheduled two “express” tours and that was too much. I wish we had just gone with what he had planned but I didn’t realize a 1 1/2 express tour really means close to 2-3 hours . We did the Vatican museum AND the Colosseum express. Mistake! If you’re short on time, I’m not sure anything else needs to be scheduled. “Skip the line” is real but there are still security lines that add too much time. We had an 11 Colosseum and did the Vatican museum at 1:30. We were practically running to get through. We even stopped for gelato before getting back on our ship.

This was a great way too see the highlights of Rome from the cruise we were on. Yes.....Rome could easily be a three or four day thing but if you only have a day this will get to the main places for a taste of what to come back to on another trip. I had a group of FOURTEEN (14) so this was perfect & I would do this again! Oh, we had a ticket time we needed to be at the Colosseum and they worked it out without any issues.

This tour was just OK. The driver just drove to points of interest and dropped us off for pickup later. His English was basically non existent and he could provide little assistance or helpful information.

A very courteous and knowledgeable driver who knew the city well, waiting when we left the boat, gave us a warm welcome and explained the various attractions on the way, took us everywhere we needed to go and see and gave a lot of description on venues. The trip was cut short by about 2 hours due to the warm weather and having left a sick husband back on the boat, a shame has he had arranged the booking and looking forward to seeing Rome for the first time, mind you it's another chance to visit for a longer stay and we will definitely use Viator on the next visit

Very effective way to see the city with a safe and well informed driver. Very flexible to do our own sightseeing.

Our guide was Luca, he met us promptly at the Royal Caribbean port. We had asked him to take us to the LDS Rome temple, which was not on the usual tour as listed. We loved it and then proceeded to the sights in Rome. Luca was truly amazing to get us close to the various sight we wanted to see. He is extremely knowledgeable in Roman history and made our trip exceptional. there were 4 of us. We could have spent a week with him and learned so much, but we only had a day and he was patient and perfect in every way. I would highly recommend him. Thank you, Luca
