Top Class of Ravioli & Meatballs: Workshop of Italian Dishes in Rome

A great fun experience. Alexander was very knowledgable and patient. I would recommend this to anyone. Lovely to eat outside afterwards.

We had a great time learning traditional methods to these dishes. The instructors give clear and easy to follow instructions. They help you through each step so that you truly understand. I will use what I have learned for when I get home.

the class was fantastic. we did meatballs and Ravioli. my wife has a gluuten allegry, and we were going to cancel when we found out what we were cooking, but they graciously allowed her to cook (she is not allergic to touching glutinous things) and then made her a gluten free meal so she could eat with us. just a great overall experience.

We had a great time at this class. I had read previous reviews and we had been told by our travel agent that the location of this class was a private residence. When we arrived, we were surprised to find that it was a small restaurant. Our instructor was very patient and explained well as we went along. He went around the table multiple times to help out the class--about 12 people. Making pasta by hand is a lot of work! My kids, ages 10 and 12, had a great time too. They were very happy to get their hands dirty! First we made meatballs by combining the meat and soggy bread, then rolling the balls. The pasta dough for the ravioli took the bulk of our prep time. The filling was ricotta cheese and a bit of spinach. Everyone in the class got the raviolis that they made. The kitchen in the back cooked each group's food separately, which was good for the others because our raviolis weren't the best looking. It was very good, if a little bland. This was definitely a carb- and gluten-heavy meal. Overall we had a great time, especially my kids. My only complaint is that the meat (for meatballs) and the filling of the raviolis seemed a little sparse. But I would recommend this activity because how many people can say they made pasta in Rome?!?

This was such a fantastic class. We made three traditional Roman sauces for pasta. Thank you so much for modifying the class. We can now make these pasta dishes at home. Loved the class and the teacher. So kind and friendly and the sauces are delicious! Love cooking in a true Roman kitchen!

A very enjoyable experience at a small restaurant in the Trast Evere section of Rome. We were a small group so received individual attention. Our chef,Alexandro, taught us how to make pasta dough, roll it, fill it, and cut it to create ravioli. We also made Italian meatballs. After the meal was cooked for us, we ate our ravioli and meatball dish accompanied by a glass of red wine.

The chef was great but I think putting so much bread and less than a pound of beef in the meatballs to cover 7 people was really cheap. They were all bread no meat. The kitchen was way too small to let eve very one see. Not a great experience

Vincenzo was our Chef/host. He was knowledgeable about pasta and meatballs as well as the town of Rome . We had a great time learning how to make pasta (Ravioli) and meatballs. He explained everything and why it was done that way. We enjoyed eating our creations and the conversations with the chef. Afterward as we walked out he told us about sites to see in Rome and pointed out couple of sites that were within walking distance from where we were. So we got to walk off our dinner and see some local sites we had not been aware of before. Overall it was a very enjoyable evening.

kind of a no frills lesson - would have liked to learn how to make proper filling for the raviolis instead of just making the pasta good meatball tips

We signed up for the ravioli and meatballs class and the day before the class, I received a text that the class was cancelled and they offered the pasta and tiramisu class instead. I was somewhat disappointed because I was looking forward to learning how to make ravioli and meatballs. Plus, the ravioli class was longer and included an apertif and seasonal vegetables in addition to the foods offered in the tiramisu class. The price was the same for both classes. All that being said, we thoroughly enjoyed our class. Joe was our chef and he was great. His explanations and demonstrations were very clear and easy to follow. He gave everyone individualized attention, especially with respect to making the pasta the right consistency and thickness. In addition, when I returned home, the recipes for everything along with a group picture were in my inbox. The pasta was delicious and we got to choose from three different sauces. The tiramisu was amazing. After the class, we were thinking about different variations on the tiramisu recipe (most of them included chocolate). We also met some very nice people during the class, so there was a social aspect to the class as well. I would rate the pasta and tiramisu class a 5. The reason for my lower rating is because of the last minute cancellation of the ravioli class.
