Pompeii Express Tour from Rome by High-Speed Train

You only get an 1:45 hour tour and 20 minutes by the shoppes. Overall not worth the price of the tour.

The tour was too short. We did see the best parts of the site and then only had 15 minutes for WC stop and shopping before bus left. Bus hit traffic when entering downtown and we had to get out and hike last half mile to make the train. The site is great, but this particular tour is poor.

We were short for time and this round trip adventure was perfect! The guide was amazing! I wish I could remember his name but he grew up running around the ruins bc his dad was an archeologist...

Nicola was our assigned guide--a lovable, diminutive, elderly gent who was the most informative and authoritative host we could imagine. All the other guides we encountered joked that Nicola was "Pompeii's oldest living survivor," but in truth he was born and raised 70+ years ago in a house adjacent to the site. His father worked on the dig and Nicola played among the ruins as a child, so we could not have had a better expert to guide us. His English was very good, he answered every question, and told us things not found in the official literature. He he did not rush the group through Pompeii tour. Our only complaint was that we didn't have sufficient time to shop for souvenirs before being bused back to the train--but that's more a function of the train schedule than Viator's planning. The train ride was a much better choice than riding 3 hours each way by shuttle bus from Rome.

A well organised, smooth and easy way to experience pompeii. Our guide was exceptional with facts as well as humorous and great with children in the group.

tour was very well organised,guides excellent.would recommend this tour for anybody with a limited time as we left Rome 7.30 and returned by 2.30 in complete comfort .great day!!!

This was a wonderful way to see Pompeii. The train is super fast and a pleasant trip to Naples. There we were picked up by a van and driven to Pompeii. Michael was a wonderful guide. The only problem was a mixup with a friends ticket ( her fault) but the company did nothing to get her on the tour so we had to leave her in Rome. I recommend checking your ticket very closely when purchasing on line because they were of no help when the error was discovered.

We very much enjoyed this tour of Pompeii and it's perfect for those who have a limited amount of time. Very well organized and the staff and our tour guide were excellent.

Picked this tour as did not want to do a long coach journey..and i wasnt disappointed everything was well organised from the train tickets, coach and guide in Pompeii even had free time for quick lunch or souvenier shopping.. Guide was very enagaging and encouraged questions.. Yes tour was bit on the dear side but takes away any hassles of doing it yourself so makes the trip more memorable and enjoyable

What a great tour. No hiccups along the way just great service from start to finish. I would highly recommend the small group setting. The audio headsets enabled us to hear our guide at all times.
