The best tour in Rome
John
, Jul 2021
This is the best tour in Rome. The rest of Rome you are overwhelmed by the amount of things to look at and the spectacle of the immense. This is the second time at the Borghese. I told my wife before we went that the Borghese tour would be her favorite part and she didn’t believe me. The Borghese is the majesty of a handful of magnificent works of art that everyone can appreciate. This is the one tour that I would recommend to every person who visits Rome. See it with a tour guide who can explain the highlights and help you appreciate the history.

Beautiful art, ugly patron

I realized that a private collection can reflect its patron even more than the artists or their subjects. This beautiful private collection is an expression of the dark and frankly criminal nature of Scipione Borghese. The Caravaggios are not to be missed.

Incredible art!

Our guide was very knowledgeable! The information that came along with each piece of art was engaging. It seems like we covered the important/most popular works since there’s so much to see. I recommend that our guide speaks a little slower as it was hard to understand her a few times, and I know some others in the group had a little bit of difficulty with understanding too, but great tour overall.

Excellent Guided Tour of the Borghese Museum

Excellent tour! Federico was knowledgeable, courteous and answered all questions. The tour was well paced and my family and I felt that we were exposed to the key historical points and works of art the museum had to offer. Federico's enthusiasm for the gallery was infectious and his ability to "paint a picture" of the Borghese's history should be commended.

Fantastic Tour Guide

We took a bunch of tours on this trip to italy. All the sites were fantastic. The overall “tour guide qualit was sub-standard. Not here! Our tour guide is a professional art historian who clearly explained the artists and the times that they painted. She also explained the artistic techniques. She was insightful and educational. Not everyone should be a tour guide but i am so happy with our museum provided tour guide. Look carefully about prices as their seems to be haphazard markups from different providers.
