This was our first tour with funky tours and we were very impressed with our guide who gave us an open and honest explanation of what took place in Sarajevo during the siege. The trip take you to May places of interest and each one in significant to the struggles. I really recommend that you go on this tour if you have the time. Great guide & Driver.

Our guide was a soldier who’d served under the siege and it was great to hear first hand testimony. It was a moving tour but one that I think all should experience.

Our tour guide Damir picked us up in the morning. We were taken to several locations in Sarajevo that were key during the war in the 1990's. Damir was well informed and interesting to listen to. He told us about family and friends that lived through the war in Sarajevo. It was an interesting and educational morning. Would definitely recommend the tour and our tour guide if you're visiting Sarajevo.

Essential for all

I knew I needed to take this tour and a colleague, who left at the start of the Siege and husband escaped via the tunnel 2 years later, agreed. For logistics alone, if you want to see the Olympics bobsled venue, the Yellow Fortress, drive along Snipers Alley, see different places where snipers accrued, understand where the Tunnel was...this tour is a no brainer. That said, our guide (never knew his name) was a youngster when the Siege started and sort of remembers it (I wish our guide was at least 10+ at the time), his history is necessary for any human who cares to understand why WAR is beyond stupid. Yes, war is stupid. Let's remember that we are ALL humans, regardless of religion, ethnicity, and beliefs. I now better understand nationalism and the difference between the Federation and Republic. Thank you so much!

Excellent tour run by Sarajevo Funky Tours includes a full hour plus at the Tunnel of Hope near the airport including a film presentation. This is followed by a visit to the Trebevic olympic mountain and the Jewish cemetery - an important location in the recent turbulence. Also a visit to the White Fortress for nice views of the city. Highly recommended.

Excellent tour! Arne and our driver were super fantastic! Arne, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, passionate, engaging, caring, and very friendly. Her knowledge of Sarajevo's history and her experience living through the siege of Sarajevo made this tour extremely informative. I would do another tour with them in a heartbeat. Very highly recommended for those interested in getting a solid understanding of Sarajevo's participation in the 1990s war in the Balkans.

Hearing first hand tales of the siege of Sarajevo and seeing some key areas, the tunnel, the snipers nests and the abandoned olympic bobsleigh used by snipers. Can't remember the ladies name but she did a great job and I'd reccomend this tour.

What a great tour! Our guide was fantastic and brought a lot of emotion and personal connection to the tour. It was simply amazing. The ONLY downside was that the directions are terrible. You are looking for something on a main street... but it's not. It is down a tiny ally with no signage.

This is an excellent trip. We were very fortunate to have Adnan as our guide, who was actually in the army during the siege and was therefore able to add some fascinating detailed knowledge about the organisation during the siege, the weaponry, rations, communication and so on. You learn a tremendous amount of the history of the city as you drive through towards the tunnel, and once there you get a good indication of how frightening it must have been. The second part of the tour took us up into the mountains where there are stunning views of the city and the chance to learn some more about the history of the siege and the placements of the snipers and tanks. We went in June and the weather was actually very chilly with intermittent rain, especially when we were on the mountain, so I strongly recommend taking some light protective clothing.

This has to be one of the best tours we have ever done. Our tour guide Adnan, an ex soldier, was amazing. So full of knowledge. He was very entertaining with the information he provided, with a touch of humour on occasions which helped with what could have been a very sombre tour. Nothing was too much trouble and so obliging - helping take photos, indicating toilet stops, advice on other things to do, etc. We had a great time and learnt so much. We can highly recommend this tour, but Adnan was what made it for us. A very big thank you to him.

This was truly an excellent tour! The tour guide Nermina, and the driver Adnan were both extremely friendly and inviting. Nermina spoke with passion, shared her own personal stories and experience of the siege, and was able to answer all of our questions very articulately. The War Tunnel museum was made even more interesting by her narration. What was unexpected was the recent snow that had fallen in Sarajevo so the reminder of the tour was, well, unbelievable! We were fortunate enough to see the mountains and the Winter Olympic bobsleigh in a truly spectacular light! I will never forget the clean, crisp air, the beautiful views and of course, the narration of sadder times to go with. All in all, an excellent tour, which I highly recommend.

Armenja spelling? was an excellent guide. She is a true humanitarian and spent her time during the siege helping people survive. She has a great way of appreciating tourists for visiting Sarajevo and spreading the word about the wonderful city. I think she thanked me 3 times! She also had great recommendations for other top spots in town, what not to miss, etc. I learned a lot from her in only half a day. The tour had a lighter moment, when we drove to the mountain and saw the luge track from the '84 Olympics. It was a good detour from the heartbreak of the siege, and I liked the opportunity to see the city from that view.
