This Mt Rainier day trip begins with a convenient hotel pickup in Seattle or near the SeaTac Airport. Then prepare for a narrated, scenic drive featuring Alder Lake Park and the town of Eatonville at the foothills of Mt Rainier.

Stop at Longmire, the visitor center at the southwest corner of the park, to explore their museum and National Park Inn. Visit Christine Falls, with one of the signature views in Mt Rainier National Park (look for the bridge). Then walk along the Nisqually River up to Narada Falls, considered the most popular waterfall in Mt Rainier State Park. It’s taller than Niagara Falls at 188 feet.

Then it’s off to the pinnacle event of the day: the view at Paradise, which is 5,400 feet above sea level. Purchase lunch here and take in the incredible view of Mt Rainier and the valley below. Be on the lookout for wildlife wandering around the mountain at any time.

During the wintertime, choose from an optional snowshoe or sled adventure, if conditions allow. During the summertime, simply enjoy the scene at Reflection Lake, which provides one of the most iconic views of Mt Rainier. It’s absolutely stunning. Be sure to bring a camera.

Finally, visit the Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center at Paradise to learn more about the history of Mt Rainier, including a brief film about it.

Then it’s back down the mountain to hit the road back to Seattle.

Wonderful trip to take with Friends and Fam

Dress appropriately for the cold weather if you are going in November throughout the winter months. Steep trail to Narada Falls but all the stops were great. We got enough time for each and the breaks/rest room stops are evenly distributed. SO to Don for making this trip memorable. He is amazing and really took care of the whole group. We were lucky Mr. Rainier showed up! Will definitely be back during summer or maybe fall.

Awesome Tour

It was an amazing experience. Lucas, our guide, was great! He was knowledgeable, accommodating, and funny. The mountain was majestic. Be prepared to walk. Bring some climbing boots, not sneakers, sunglasses, and snacks. Dress in layers. Although Lucas makes a stop at a market before heading to the mountain. We were lucky to have a sunny and clear day, but not everyday is like that. It can rain, snow, be cloudy or even windy. But being on that mountain should alone be awe-inspiring, so don’t blame the guide or the company. You can’t control mother nature. Also, Lucas is a local and an avid hiker and backpacker, so it was reassuring to have someone who knows the terrain. If you have Lucas as your guide and it happens to be a clear day, consider yourself fortunate.

Beautiful even if the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Winter is the rainy season so there is a chance that you won’t be able to go up very far or see the summit up close. The guide made the most of it so it was still a nice hike through the park. My only major feedback is that they should offer an “easy” more nature walk style and an “intermediate” mountain hiking option. I would have loved to do some of the more difficult trails but the difficulty is based on the ability of your peers which can vary.

Thank you for your review and feedback. The guide should of given everyone options based on your abilities and not require anyone to hike more than they are comfortable. It can be difficult and they do usually have to go with the majority since there is only one of them and possibly up to 22 guests. The locations the guides hike to can also depend on the weather as some trails may not be open. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

One of the best experiences i’ve ever had!

I usually don’t write reviews, but I need to for this one! Joel was out tour guide, and i truly mean this when i say, he was the best tour guide I have ever had. He continually assured everyone was doing okay on the hikes, asking if we needed water, helping us with anything we need. He gave us several different recommendations of places to eat and go in Seattle, which really helps. He is so genuine and I can tell he loves doing what he does. The longest hike did get a bit tiring but he assured we were all together. We went on a foggy day so didn’t see much of the mountains around us, but he was kind enough to send us some pictures of when it wasn’t foggy, so that we could see it as well. Truly, an unforgettable experience. Thank you Joel!!!!

Disappointed

I was very excited to go to Mt Rainier, we were picked up on time and we drove to Mt Rainier. We stopped at a view spot we were able to see the mountain and took pictures we also stopped at the entrance of the park and took pictures. When we get there to the park, (the tour guide still pays to go in the park) the road to go up to see the mountain was closed, due to flooding and high winds! So we ended up just walking to the river just around the corner from the parking lot and went to the general store! I think they should get inform first to see if the park is going to be open or closed due to weather for the amount of money they are charging $150 and give you a refund or charge you less if you decide to still go and Know the entrance to the mountain is going to be closed. For me it was like i just paid $150 for the drive and just to go see the river. It was nice to know I “went” to Mt Rainier(park)the tour guide was a very nice person that did his best to show us what he could. It wasnt his fault it was closed but would be great if the tour company informs themselves to see if park will be open!

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately we have to wait on the National Park to alert if they have closed a road. On occasion this does not happen until guests are already picked up and arriving. We apologize you were not able to enjoy your full experience of this tour. Please give our office a call and as to speak with a Manager, we are more than happy to discuss further.

Simply amazing day!

Amazing day in November. A crystal blue sky and fresh snow. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. He was happy to play photographer for family photos and customized the tour according to the weather to give us the best views and hidden trails. We even stopped for fresh blackberry pie on the way back to Seattle.

Sounds like you did have an "amazing day" in November. With all of our rain this month I am glad the weather held up for your group. Thank you for joining us for the day.

Mount Rainier Day Trip

, Nov 2021
Overall, my experience was very good. Going to Mount Rainier was spectacular. A lot of snow that day so we didn't get to see the entire mountain, however, seeing the base of the mountain covered in snow during a snowfall was beautiful. The only gripe I have is I feel the description did not exactly match how the day went. I was under the impression that we would pick people up, go to Mount Rainier, take pictures and drive around a bit. There were quite a few stops and a lot more walking than at the actual mountain and in Mount Rainier national park then I had anticipated. I believe the description of this particular tour needs to be revised a bit just to express how much walking there actually is and how many stops they're actually are. However, all that being said, when I wanted to stay on the bus I stayed on the bus. When I wanted to get off I got off and walked around. It was a personal decision and it wasn't an issue with it. Lastly, and certainly not least Lucas was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and kept the group engaged the entire time.

Thank you for your feedback. We do list all of our possible stops and locations, depending on the weather the guide may make some last minute itinerary adjustments. Each one as well as the walking like you described is optional. Glad you did enjoy your tour and time spend with Lucas.
