Chez Barone Cooking School

Our experience started with the owner picking us up from our hotel to the cooking class. The latter at his bed and breakfast property (where he also lives). We were welcomed with two glasses of prosecco and an intimate tour of the property (outside and inside). We learned to make stuffed steak, fried pizza, ravioli and tiramisu. We had a wonderful evening and highly recommend this class if visiting Sorrento.

From the very start we were given preferential treatment, pick up was done at our hotel so we didn’t have to walk at all. The home/hotel where the school is held is magnificent with stunning views and the owner was generous with his time and eager to pass along history of the property. We were the only two in the class so we had the full attention of the chef and the owners daughter, she explained each step as the chef helped us prepare the meal. The instructions were clear and concise and learning was made very fun. I highly recommend this as an activity when in Sorrento. Thank you Chef Salvatore!!

We had an excellent time at the cooking school. We met so many nicer people and we were glad to see that the class was small. The grounds were the villa is located is beautiful and well maintained. Fabio the owner of the villa was very personable and spent the time explaining the modifications and the history of the villa. We are so glad that we booked this class and would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Sorrento.

Fabulous!!!! The villa was exceptional. The class was fun and educational. So authentic.. hospitality was outstanding! A must!

This was well run. A beautiful location with a very friendly chef and sous chef. Very attuned to the needs of the participants. It would have been nice to be more involved in the process and cooked more. We did a lot of preparation but not the actual cooking. You get a small cookbook to take home, but it would be nice if the book had pictures that went along with the instructions.

We had such a great time learning to cook a variety of dishes with Chef Louisa. It was one of our favorite things we did while visiting Sorrento. From the wine, to the food, to the company, it was the perfect evening and we will remember it for years to come.

My wife noticed the advertisement for Chez Barone while we were strolling through Sorento and we booked it on a bit of a whim. It turned out we were the only people in the class that night and had the staff's full attention. The Villa is gorgeous and sits on a hill overlooking Sorento. The food was excellent and we both learned so much while making it. The ravioli was some of the best I've ever had. We basically spent the entire day there tasting wine, cooking, and enjoying the compound and honestly couldn't recommend it more. Make sure you bring a swim suit if you come in summer, during the breaks you'll have time for the pool. Wish we could go back again.
